uBooks Free Update Issues

12 March 2012

Dear users, unfortunately, the last update of the uBooks app has resulted in a few problems for some devices. The most famous of them is the disappearance of the text (white text on a white background), which is perceived as “the book does not open.” A simple change of settings can solve this problem in most cases.

We present our apologies and would like to announce that at the moment we are working on the solution, so we will release the updates soon.

While we are working on the elimination of bugs, we’ll keep the community informed about all detected defects and ways of troubleshooting which you can perform yourself to enable the use of the application before we release the updated patch.

If you see incorrect application behavior which is not described on the application page on our site, please let us know in the following ways:

The bottom bar on the reading screen shows what functions can be selected. If there is a lock, tap on it, you can lock the screen rotation. Accordingly, if the lock is not selected – screen rotation is enabled.

How to Set Up Themes for Day and Night modes?

To make reading comfortable, you can create separate themes for day and night:

  1. Tap the Settings button in the lower left-hand corner of the Bookshelf Screen.
  2. In Additional Features tap the button Interface Appearance and you will see the list of themes.
  3. On the right from every theme, there are two icons. If you tap the icon with the sun, you will assign the theme for the day mode, while the icon with the moon assigns the theme for the night.

We strongly recommend selecting different themes for day and night modes. If you choose the same theme for both modes, then day mode will coincide with night.

Auto-Scroll Doesn’t Work Correctly

We would recommend you stop using the function of automatic scrolling until the updated version of uBooks application is released.
