1994
A group of 12 self-employed enthusiasts was formed in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Target domain scoped business automation, accounting and informational systems. The main tools were C/C++, Pascal and FoxPro. This was a period of time when local businesses just started to realize opportunities of IT. Our company was among the first service providers in Kharkiv, who proposed integrated solutions in the area of business computerization. Service package typically included development of specialized software, adoption of existing solutions for customer’s needs, and IT-infrastructure establishment and support. Tens of local businesses entrusted us automation of their business processes and development of IT infrastructure.

1997
Company gets in touch with its first Western customers. They were mainly Internet and telecommunication service providers interested in outsourcing of software development and network administration. Among them were LuckyNet (Israel), Doryanet (Israel), EZS Ltd (USA), Barravoe Inc (Bolivia/Israel) and others. Being impressed by remarkable skills of Ukrainian specialists and pleasantly surprised with services cost they made first steps toward Ukrainian outsourcing market. NIX was focused on small and medium Internet- and client-server solutions, system-level software, system integration and technical support (Linux, Solaris, Cisco, FreeBSD). It was a time of development process structurization and roles definition.

1999
Company gets its current name NIX Solutions, Ltd. Upon foundation company established a strategic collaboration with United SoftHouse Corporation, based in Israel. Having offices in North America and Western Europe United SoftHouse acts as a representative of our business interests on Western market. This alliance made a notable impact on NIX Solutions, which realized its ambitions in being a strong development company. In this period one can observe fast evolution of our focus area, organization, and development skills. New company's name came historically reflecting company's direction to solutions for Linux and Unix platforms. Question of the quality came on top as company faced large-scale international projects. Powerful marketing facilities of the United SoftHouse helped to attract plenty of new customers. In order to constantly achieve IT quality criteria (deliver in time, in budget and satisfy all requirements) NIX brings its internal standards for development lifecycle and project documentation up to modern international trends. Company introduces multi-layer architecture for enterprise applications based on CORBA and delivers large-scale solutions for e-Commerce (B2B, B2C), decision support software, data processing systems, and provides system integration services. Very demonstrative projects of this period are: innovative banner management solution BannerPool (12 man-years), large-scale informational system for Israeli Pharmaceutical Association UltraNet (11 man-years) and B2B marketing system (15 man-years). Changes in the development process helped to meet and even often exceed customers' expectations. Since that time we have been receiving repeated orders as a result of completed project.

2000
Being focused on enterprise solutions we mastered new development platform - J2EE. Delivery of several pilot projects strengthen ourselves in this technical area and provided new marketing opportunities. As a result of our efforts toward J2EE our major partner United SoftHouse attracted new customers interested in J2EE development.

2001
Our company was selected by Gruppo Pro, a leading ERP provider in Italy, for the implementation of enterprise warehouse management system J-PYX. This project became the first in a sequence of R&D projects devoted to the development of different modules of ERP system J-OPEN. Getting ready to this new challenge the company formalized development lifecycle basing on Unified Process. Project documentation and workflows were fully standardized in compliance with UP framework and adopted to company’s needs. Each activity now gets documented, measured, reviewed, and quality controlled. New weighted development process and its adopted light-weight version helped the company to meet complex projects involving edge technologies fully armored. Till the end of year 2002 NIX completed several projects in J-OPEN cycle in time and in budget deserving excellent feedback from customer. The total size of the cycle stated about 60 man-years.

2003
In order to find new opportunities for growth the company started active investigation toward new technologies, new services and new customers. From this time besides large projects significant part of the company’s turnover has been made by small and mid-size projects with time and budget constraints. At this point foreseeing high demand for solutions based on brand new .NET platform the company adds this technology to its skills set. Our area of focus includes now Internet, e-commerce, web presence, and entertainment. During 2003 the company succefully completed more than 100 projects with size from a man-month to several man-years.

2004
NIX Solutions continues to advance delivering top-notch solutions helping our customers to successfully compete on the market. Demonstrative projects of this period are: web search service iZito.com providing innovative Rich User Interface, and unique Internet Explorer toolbar engine CompanyToolbar.
Another important achievement was a start of collaboration with a company, which is an undisputed global leader in regulatory solutions for life science industry. We got a long-term contract for the technical maintenance of customer's major product lines. Scope of work includes development of new versions, service packs and hotfixes as well as quality control activities. Involvement and expertise of NIX specialists deserved high marks from customer's representatives and put excellent start for long and fruitful collaboration.

Today
NIX Solutions represents one of the most dynamic IT service providers in Ukraine. Having more than 600 completed projects and possessing remarkable team of professionals united by established quality-oriented process NIX is getting ready to make a huge jump on top of the market.
